About Your Bed and Breakfast Hosts

Your hosts Jan & Jennifer welcome you to their Christchurch Bed & Breakfast apartment, "The Chester". We are very pleased the way The Chester B&B has been received. We know you will enjoy the attention to detail and quality, apparent from the moment you set foot in The Chester.

Jan & Jennifer are both professional people. We aim for a friendly and helpful atmosphere.

Jan is a professional violinist and Concertmaster of the Christchurch Symphony for the past 15 years. He has held leading positions in Holland, South Africa, Hong Kong, & Australia. He has been closely associated with Symphony concerts/Opera/Chamber music, and worked with many of the worlds greatest artists & conductors for more than 3 decades and most recently with icons such as Pavaroti, Elton John, Diana Kraal & Andrea Boccelli.

Jennifer is a tennis professional who represented Tasmania on 3 consecutive occasions in the Wilson Cup and competed in the Australian Open. She now concentrates on the development of children at an early age through her Tennis School Peewee Tennis Ltd.

Another of Jennifer's interests is fashion. Which she promotes through her Company "Just Shopping Ltd" taking small groups for retail therapy to elegant cosmopolitan Melbourne.

In addition to his passion for the Arts & Music, Jan is also an accomplished sailor and sailed his previous 38ft yacht Cooee from Australia to New Zealand.

He now is the proud owner of the classic yacht Caplin, built for the circumnavigation of Cmdr. Graham of the Royal Navy.
